The Weil McLain Ultra Commercial model 550 has a maximum input of 550 MBH and can modulate its firing rate as low as 110 MBH with a thermal efficiency of 93.9% and a combustion efficiency of 94.7%. The Weil McLain Ultra Commercial Mod Con Gas Boilers are Modulating Condensing boilers, which means that they modulate the firing rate automatically according to your actual heating needs closely matching the input without wasting fuel. The condensing feature utilizes heat in the flue gases to preheat the water returning to the boiler and actually scrubs so much heat out of the flue gases that water vapor in the flue gases condense to liquid. These mod con boilers operate at the highest possible efficiencies giving you the maximum possible return on your energy dollar. The Weil McLain Ultra Commercial Boilers utilize a stainless steel pre-mixed mesh burner that has a 5:1 turn down, with a variable speed blower, negative regulated gas valve, and venturi mixing body which provide a precise mixture of fuel and air for clean burning and maximum efficiency. The Weil McLain Ultra Commercial Mod Con Gas Boilers meet the Low NOx emission requirements and are certified by the SCAQMD meeting the rule 1146.2 requirements.
The Weil McLain Ultra Commercial Mod Con Gas Boilers standard equipment includes an aluminum heat exchanger, direct spark ignition, temperature and pressure gauge, manual reset low water cut off, high limit, low and high gas pressure switches, sensors for system water temp, inlet & outlet temperature, and flue gas temperature. Also standard is a 30-psi relief valve with options for 50 & 80-psi, drains in the vent adapters, vent screens, condensate trap, a front jacket, which is removable for servicing, and an orifice for propane conversion. The standard electrical components on the Ultra Commercial include a power switch, 50 VA Transformer, and a line voltage receptacle for servicing. The Ultra Commercial has 2” tappings for supply and return, 1 ¼” gas connection, 1” condensate connection, measures 47 ¼” W X 18 3/16” D X 46 ½” H with the model 550 weighing in at 505 lbs. and the model 750 weighing 550 lbs.
