At the heart of the Triangle Tube Prestige Series Boilers is a Modulating Burner. This burner can modulate the burner between 25% – 100% of the rated output for the boiler you have allowing the boiler to closely match your heating needs without short cycling which reduces efficiency. The Modulating Burner also mixes the fuel and air together in the variable speed blower before going to the burner for a cleaner burn and better efficiency. The burner heat is then sent to a Condensing Boiler which is different from the conventional boilers in that it has an additional section where hot flue gases are used to preheat the water returning to the boiler. The use of the flue gases in the Condensing Boiler releases the latent heat of steam in the hot flue gases to provide the preheating and actually cools the flue gases so much that the steam in the flue gases condenses to water hence the name Condensing Boiler.
