Peerless Cast 92 Cast Iron Condensing Gas Boiler

The Peerless Cast 92 Cast Iron Condensing Gas Boiler is a residential and light commercial Mod Con boiler that has 2 models, which fire at rates between 40,000 –399,000 Btuh with efficiencies as high as 92.7 AFUE. The Cast 92-2 is an Energy Star boiler that also has low CO2 & NOx emissions, which are Greenhouse Gases and major contributors to photochemical smog.

The Peerless Cast 92 is a mod con or, modulating condensing boiler which adjusts the firing rate of the burner to closely meet your actual heating needs with a 5:1 turndown ratio, and stay running at a low firing rate rather than fire at a high rate and cycle on and off wasting fuel by inefficient operation. The Cast 92 is also a condensing boiler, which uses the heat in the exhausting flue gases to preheat the water returning to the boiler. This boiler removes so much of the heat from the flue gases that water vapor in the exhausting gases condenses into liquid form. The Peerless Cast 92 is made by Peerless Boilers, which is located in Bally, Pennsylvania and has concentrated their entire product line in the area of hydronic heating, offering the consumers one of the most complete lines of quality hydronic heating equipment available from any manufacturer.

The Peerless Cast 92 Cast Iron Condensing Gas Boiler comes in two models and sizes, the Cast 92-2 which fires its modulated burner between 40,000 and 199,000 Btuh with an efficiency 92.7% AFUE, and the Cast 92-4 which fires its modulated burner between 80,000 and 399,000 Btuh with a thermal efficiency of 92.7%. The Cast 92 can be installed either outside air or, room air for combustion and can be vented either through a wall or, through the roof with a maximum length of 100’. The Cast 92 has a cast iron boiler with sections joined by steel push nipples, a pre-mix mesh burner, direct spark ignition, and can operate on either natural gas, or, LP gas without a conversion kit. The Peerless Cast 92 has a built in digital control system that monitors and controls operation and performance of the boiler and provides a troubleshooting diagnostics in plain English, which can control up to 8 zones and up to 16 boilers in a multiple boiler installation. The Cast 92 does not have a domestic hot water coil but can operate an indirect water heater on a separate zone with priority from the digital control.  The Cast 92 has a ½” gas connection and 1 ¼” supply and return water connections with a maximum working pressure of 100-psi. The Peerless Cast 92 has a very small footprint with the Cast 92-2 measuring only 17 3/16” W X 28 3/8” D X 51 1/8” H weighing in at 540 lbs. and the Cast 92-4 measures only 22” W X 35 3/8” D X 51 7/8” H weighing in at 753 lbs. The Cast 92 is ASME & CSA certified and meets the Low NOx requirements of SCAQMD Rule 1146.2 emitting less than 12 ppm NOx, which is a major component of photochemical smog. People installing the Cast 92-2 in their home are eligible for a Federal Income Tax Credit, and should check for the availability of various state and utility company rebates for efficiency and clean air incentives as well.

The Peerless Cast 92-2 Cast Iron Condensing Gas Boiler installed in residential applications has a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the heat exchanger, which is pro-rated after 10 years. The burner, jacket, controls and other auxiliary equipment furnished with the boiler but manufactured by other companies are limited to that manufacturers warranty.
