The Kohler Cimarron Complete Solution Toilet K-11451 is an elongated bowl, comfort height toilet that has Kohler’s Class 6 Flushing System. The Kohler Cimarron K-11451 and its Class 6 Flushing System are designed to provide a powerful flush with only 1.28 gallons of water used per flush. This toilet has been tested and is certified to meet the EPA’s WaterSense certification requirements this makes the toilet eligible for rebates in some municipalities. The minimum specification for this type of toilet is that the toilet flushes with 1.28 GPF and the toilet flushes a minimum of 350 grams of solids per flush. The Kohler Cimarron Complete Solution Toilet K-11451 is a complete toilet with everything you need for installation except the supply line and caulk to apply around the base where it meets the floor. The toilet is supplied with the tank and bowl, toilet seat, closet bolts, wax ring, and closet bolt caps. I would also like to note that the wax ring provided with the Kohler Cimarron K-11451 is the type that has a black plastic horn resembling a funnel built into it which many people think helps prevent leaks. My personal opinion is that this type of wax ring actually causes far more problems than it ever cured and in the case of the high performance flush toilets with the larger outlets in some cases can cause interference with the fit to the closet flange actually in some cases restricting the flow of waste causing clogs and leaks as well. I would recommend using a plain wax ring without the black plastic horn in most installations.
The Kohler Cimarron Complete Solution Toilet K-11451 is available in white only and measures 28 3/4” (73cm) L X 17 5/8” (44.7cm) W X 30 ¾” (78.1cm) H and fits a 12” (30.5cm) rough-in. The toilet meets the requirements of ADA, ASME A112.19.1/CSA B45.2, Energy Policy Act of 1992, and EPA WaterSense. The Kohler Cimarron K-11451 utilizes Kohler’s Class 6 flushing system, which is a proprietary canister valve that has a powerful flush using 1.28 GPF, and features a unique proprietary “DryLock” method of attaching the tank to the bowl where an attachment plate under the tank eliminates the need for bolts and sealing washers through the tank to secure the tank to the bowl. The Kohler Cimarron K-11451 is constructed from vitreous china, has a 2 1/8” (5.4cm) glazed trapway, and has a water spot in the bowl measuring 10 1/2″ (26.7 cm) X 7 1/8″ (18.1 cm). The Kohler Cimarron K-11451 is designed so that when installed on a 12” (30.5cm) rough-in there is a 1” (2.5cm) space between the tank and the wall so in theory it could fit a rough-in measuring 11” (27.9cm), the base is a large oval shape flattened at the rear measuring 16 ½” (41.9cm) from the closet bolts to the front of the base, 8 ½” (21.6cm) from the closet bolts to the rear of the base while being 10” (25.4cm) wide. The oval shape of the base may have difficulty covering the footprint of an old toilet that had a large square base when used in a replacement situation. Tools required for installation are a small adjustable wrench, putty knife, level, and a hacksaw.
