Dunkirk Hot Line Indirect Water Heater Review

The Dunkirk Hot Line Indirect Water Heaters in the Model HL series are available in 5 sizes from 30 to 119 gallons in size and can easily provide 3 to 5 times as much domestic hot water than conventional gas and electric water heaters. Depending on the size of the water heater, and the size and operating temperature of your boiler the first hour delivery can be from 107 gallons to 289 gallons with a 77-degree F rise. The Dunkirk Model HL indirect water heaters are designed to be installed in conjunction with a gas or oil fired boiler with a separate zone feeding the coil of the indirect water heater. Dunkirk has been making gas and oil-fired hot water and steam boilers for residential and commercial buildings since 1928 in Dunkirk, NY. In 1999 The Utica Companies (Utica) and Dunkirk Radiator Corporation merged to form ECR International named in honor of Earle C. Reed the founder of both companies. ECR has plants in Dunkirk, Utica, and Rome, New York and in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada providing equipment for all your heating and cooling needs. The Dunkirk Model HL series indirect water heaters are also available under the labels of Pennco, Utica Boilers, and in Canada Olsen.

The Dunkirk Hot Line Indirect Water Heaters in the Model HL series are the HL30SK 30-gallon, HL40SK 40-gallon, HL50SK 50-gallon, HL80SK 80-gallon, and the HL119SK 119-gallon sizes. All models are constructed with a porcelain coated tank and coil to provide corrosion protection and in addition the 30 through 50 gallon sizes have a single magnesium anode and the 80 & 119 gallon sizes have dual anodes providing corrosion protection. In 2006 the coil size on all models were upgraded to 1 ¼” diameter to provide more surface area for better heat transfer and all models now have 1” coil connections on the side with dielectric nipples provided. The 30 to 50-gallon tanks have the domestic hot and cold connections on the side of the tank while the 80 & 119-gallon tanks have the domestic cold-water connection on the side and the domestic hot-water connection on the top. All of the Dunkirk Hot Line Indirect Water Heaters have 2” foam insulation surrounded by a heavy-duty steel jacket, with a aquastat mounted to a thermowell so the aquastat can be replaced without draining the tank, and they also come with a factory installed T&P valve and a self cleaning drain valve. The Dunkirk Hot Line Indirect Water Heaters are provided with a Lifetime Warranty to the original purchaser as long as they own their home.
