The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boiler is a mid efficiency direct vented boiler that is available with or, without domestic hot water, and is a wall mounted boiler that weighs only 110 Lbs. The MWC Series Boilers are also available in models that fire with natural gas or, propane. The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boilers have a heating capacity of 102,000 BTU/hr with an efficiency of 85% AFUE. The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boiler is direct-vented meaning the incoming combustion air and the flue gases being exhausted are completely separate from the air inside your home. This adds to the overall efficiency of your heating system because the heated air in your home is not being used for combustion and being wasted up the chimney. A concentric venting system is used where the flue gases being exhausted help to preheat the incoming combustion air to aid in more stable combustion. The Boiler is a condensing boiler where the flue gases that would normally be heat going up the chimney are used to preheat the water returning to the boiler using a second stainless steel heat exchanger. This process removes so much of the heat out of the flue gases that moisture in the gases condense to water and the latent heat of steam is released being used to heat your home.
The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boiler can be ordered as a “Heating Only” or, as a “Combi” with a tankless domestic hot water provided by a plate type heat exchanger. The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boilers feature a copper heat exchanger with built in expansion tank, circulator pump, and automatic air vent. The Crown Maui uses a microprocessor-based control, which controls the sequence of operation as well as the settings, diagnostics, and the safety functions of the boiler. The control panel has a heating system knob with selections for off, summer, and target supply temperature setting, there is also a flame reset button and a flame lockout lamp. There are also 3 LED’s, which provide basic diagnostics, and on the models with tankless domestic hot water a DHW thermostat knob is provided. Low water cutoff protection is provided by a differential water pressure switch, which ensures water, is flowing through the boiler before allowing the burner to fire. The control also monitors the flame sensor rod, air pressure differential switch, flue gas temperature limit switch, and supply temperature limit switch. When in summer mode the control panel exercises the circulator and the 3-way valve, which is used on the combi model daily to ensure they do not stick from non-use. The Crown Maui MWC Series Gas Condensing Boilers are also provided with an inducer, condensate trap, gas valve, a factory supplied wiring harness, and relief valve. The Crown Maui also features low operational noise levels in a compact housing that measures 31 5/8” H X 15 ¾” W X 13 5/8” D. The Crown Maui Residential Gas Boilers have a One-Year Parts Warranty and up to a Lifetime Warranty on the heat exchanger.
