The Burnham Hydronics MPO Series Oil Fired Boilers have a three-pass cast iron heat exchanger featuring a large chamber without a target wall and a return water protection system that blends hot water with the returning cold water, and direct venting is available on the 3 largest models. The MPO Series Boilers are designed with easy servicing in mind and feature a large swing away door that allows for easy cleaning and the baffles in the heat exchanger are also removable for cleaning. There are multiple burner options from many of the leading burner manufacturers but when direct vented a direct vent compatible burner such as the Beckett NX must be used. The MPO Series Boilers are supplied with a Honeywell # L7248 Electronic Aquastat which can interface for diagnostics and has a digital display. Under the jacket of the MPO Series Boiler there is 3” thick insulation, which greatly reduces heat loss. The MPO’s do not have a tankless coil but domestic hot water can be made with the MPO Series Boilers by using a indirect water heater on a separate zone.
