The heavy gauge steel tank is Vitraglas lined to help prevent corrosion and in addition is protected by a magnesium anode located in the top of the tank. The inlet on the lower side of the tank and the outlet on the top have factory installed dielectric heat trap nipples installed at the factory to facilitate easy corrosion free connections to the water heater with any acceptable piping material and helping to prevent heat loss in the piping by convection. There is a galvanized steel base which is rust resistant for long life, with a flue baffle which slows the flow of the flue gases allowing higher heat transfer and lower standby heat losses in the flue of the water heater, also provided is a 3” X 4” draft diverter allowing connection to either a 3” or, 4” flue without reducers needed.
