The Beckett AF II Oil Burner is available in 3 models the AF II 85, AF II 100, and the AF II 150 which can supply an input of 56,000 to 210,000 BTU/hr to your heating equipment while firing at a rate of 0.40 to 1.50 gallons per hour depending on the model and the tube & head selected. Reginald Beckett founded Beckett Corporation in Elyria, Ohio in 1937, and is now a third generation company still controlled by the Beckett family in Elyria. In the 72 years since its founding Beckett has become a recognized oil burner industry leader. Beckett oil burners are well made, highly reliable and very easy to service making them a favorite of oil burner service techs. In fact the Beckett burners were so well regarded they were selected to provide the heat at the National Science Foundation’s McMurdo Base in Antarctica where temperatures in the darkness of winter may reach well below –50-degrees F. If they can operate with high reliability in the harshest environment on earth heating your home in a temperate climate should be an easy task compared to Antarctica.
The Beckett AF II Oil Burner is designed to operate on either #1 or, #2 heating oil with either a single or 2-stage fuel unit. The AF II uses 120-VAC, 5.8-Amps to power a 1/7 HP 3450 RPM, NEMA 48M frame motor, which turns both the oil pump and the blower. The motor is protected with manual reset overload protection. A continuous duty shielded transformer that has a secondary voltage of 10,000-volts with 23-ma provides ignition. On the AF II the air inlet was designed being on the opposite side of the burner from the oil pump to help prevent a build up of lint and dust with a large easy to read air control. When the air cover is removed the burner can be configured to draw combustion air from outside through a 4” supply duct providing additional economy by not using heated air from inside your home to support combustion. The Beckett AF II uses the R-7184 primary control to monitor all safety controls and provide basic burner operation controls. The Beckett AF II uses industry standard parts making repairs easy while quite often having the parts available as truck stock or certainly carried at the shop making that midnight heat outage an easy service call.
