Plumbers tape is used to seal threaded connections so the comparison would only be able to be made with pipe dope. We have done a job that we didn't use putty because of the oil, but we did use the hercules plumber caulk. Now they lady did call back and say her granite top was stained because of the caulk is this true. How are you doing?
