LG Washers Eligible for Appliance Stimulus Package Rebates

Picking an LG Washing Machine that meets the requirements of the Appliance Stimulus Package is easy. The reason it is so easy is their entire line meets the requirements of the “Cash for Appliances” program because every washer they make carries the Energy Star seal. LG or, Life’s Good is a Korean based corporation with 114 local subsidiaries worldwide, employing roughly 82,000 executives and employees.

The LG Washer US Product Line is composed of front loading washers all of which carry the Energy Star seal and are eligible for the “Cash for Appliances” Rebates of $50 – $200. The LG Washers are loaded with advanced feature options which save energy. One of the biggest energy saving options involve a high speed spin cycle at speeds up to 1300 RPM, which leaves the clothes almost dry at the end of the washing, reducing drying time saving huge amounts of energy. One of the other energy saving features on some models is a built in water heating element. This feature was almost a necessity because of the water saving designs that use up to 44% less water than a conventional washer so by the time hot water reaches the washer it may already be close to being full. Some models have SenseClean™ measures the water’s turbulence and then adjusts water and cycle length for more precise cleaning and energy efficiency.

LG also offers Steam Washers which are eligible for the “Cash for Appliances” Rebates using the least amount of water and having phenomenal cleaning power. Steam Washers offer so much cleaning power that they have an Allergiene™ cycle uses the power of steam to remove over 95% of the common household allergens, like dust mites and pet dander from your laundry. They also offer Wash/Rinse Optimizer™ which automatically senses water hardness and detergent level and adjusts cycle length to maximize efficiency.

LG has several “Cash for Appliances” eligible “All in One” Combo Washer/Dryers which offer start to finish washing and drying in one cycle in the same machine. Put the clothes in dirty and take them out dry! The “All in One” units are available in both washers and steam washers. The entire wash and dry cycle is can be run off a 120 volt receptacle with no dryer vent needed. These “All in One” Combo Washer/Dryers even come with a timer that can delay the start of the cycle so you can put in a load in the morning and come home from work with the load just finishing.

The LG “Cash for Appliances” eligible Front Loading Washer product line has 8 models ranging in price from $799 – $1299 MSRP ranging in size from 3.6 cu. ft. to 4.5 cu. ft.

      Hi Ron,
I’m afraid the program does not start until some time after your states program is approved by the federal government.
The deadline for states to submit their plans is Oct. 15, 2009.
I’m afraid you purchased them too early.
Do you have any other plans for purchasing appliances? A fridge perhaps?
Big energy savings to be had there!

One thing you can check is existing rebates for the appliances you purchased already.
One place to check is at this link.

I would also check with your state government and utility provider as well.

Are the stimulus checks different state to state and would like to know dates for Wisconsin and Michigan

    • Redwood says:

      Hi Patricia,
Each states Appliance Stimulus Package will be different allowing them to focus on what is best for their states benefit.
They have a 10/15 deadline to submit their individual plan to the federal government for approval.
After the deadline the Federal government will approve the plans and distribute funds to the states.
They hope to have most of the money distributed by 11/30/09.
You probably will be able to find some information on the individual state plans as 10/15 approaches.

Another program that you should look at is the Weatherization Assistance Program where qualifying families can receive up to $6500. Wisconsin is receiving about $141M and Michigan is receiving $243M. Technologies that are used in the Weatherization Grant Program include insulation, energy saving doors and windows, energy efficient lighting, energy efficient heating and air conditioning, duct sealing, solar water heating, water conservation, and alternative energy programs just to name a few. $8B has been approved for funding the state programs so it is a huge program. Families with income as high as 200% of the federal poverty level qualify for these grants. 200% of the poverty level includes a family of 4 with income of $44,000 per year in the lower 48 states, $55,140 per year in Alaska, $50,720 per year in Hawaii.

      Thanks for visiting 411Plumb,
